What are the Different Types of Magic Mushrooms?

The Blue Meanies also tend to make you feel like you’re floating or flying. The effects of this type of shroom can last up to a day, making it one of the most potent magic mushrooms and, therefore, should be used with caution. 

Furthermore, Psilocybe Subaeruginosa is native to Central and South America.

 

Psilocybe Bohemia or The Bohemian

Another type of psychedelic mushroom worth mentioning is The Bohemian, which is native to Pacific Northwest. This magic mushroom is known for its pale brownish-white cap with darker brown stripes and a very light stem which can also be white or grey. 

Psilocybe bohemia is a very potent mushroom with the same effects as other magic mushrooms, but it is more powerful. It can be consumed raw or dried and should not be cooked because it will lose potency.

 

Psilocybe Semilanceata

This type of magic mushroom is commonly found in the Pacific Northwest and is one of the most common psychedelic mushrooms. Psilocybe semilanceata, also known as liberty caps, tends to grow in clusters on wood chips and mulch, usually after it rains.

 

Psilocybe Mexicana or Pajaritos

This type of psychedelic mushroom is the smallest of all the magic mushrooms. They are generally referred to as Pajaritos (little birds). These mushrooms have a distinct smell that is not so pleasant, but this does not stop people from using them for their magic powers.

Psilocybe Caerulipes or the Blue Foot

Psilocybe Caerulipes, or the Blue Foot, is a commonly known species of psychedelic mushroom found in Australia and New Zealand. The blue colour of the stem is what gives this type of magic mushroom its name.

 It contains the psychoactive compounds psilocybin and baeocystin and has a reputation for being one of the most potent mushrooms in these regions. The Blue Foot is commonly found on wood chips near the coast or inland.

 

Psilocybe Stuntzii or Blue Rangers

Psilocybe caerulescens, also known as “Derrumbes” or “landslide mushrooms,” is a psilocybin mushroom that contains the psychoactive compounds psilocybin, psilocin and baeocystin. The effects of this mushroom can last anywhere from 3-6 hours, depending on the dose ingested.

Psilocybe Caerulescens can be found in Central Europe and around the world in temperate climates. It is a very psychoactive mushroom, with effects comparable to those of Psilocybe Cubensis.
